JVI Newsletter ▪ February 2025

Dear Friends of the JVI,

We hope this first newsletter of 2025 finds you well.

This newsletter reports on three new courses recently delivered at the JVI: two from the IMF, covering the Macroeconomics of Climate Change and Fintech; and a collaborative course led by the JVI and Banque de France on Developing Non-Bank Finance in the JVI Region. The latter course also benefitted from contributions by the French financial supervisor ACPR, the EBRD, the ECB, the IFC, the IMF, and the OECD.

Many of you know our colleague Michele Burlington-Green, who has been with the JVI since its inception in 1992. Michele retired in December 2024 after a long and distinguished career dedicated to capacity building in the JVI region. In this newsletter, we highlight some memorable moments from her time with us.

As always, we welcome your questions, comments, or feedback of any kind, please reach out to us at jvi@jvi.org. Many thanks to Rilind Kabashi, our Editor, Maša Valenko, and all the contributors to this Newsletter.

Hervé Joly
Director, Joint Vienna Institute
