JVI Newsletter ▪ October 2024

Dear Friends of the JVI,

This newsletter highlights a new collaboration between the IMF, the JVI, and Yale University on the Financial Crisis Management course. This course marks the first time a leading U.S. university has partnered in a joint training activity at the JVI. An integral feature of the course was the high-level conference on Building Resilience and Managing Financial Crises, co-organized by the JVI, the Austrian National Bank (OeNB), SUERF and Yale and attended by course participants.

Two other courses were delivered at the JVI for the first time last month. The course on E-money and Mobile Payments offered an overview of the emerging considerations for policymakers working with e-money service providers or looking to promote their development. The course on Legal Frameworks for Public Financial Management addressed institutional and legal issues critical to sound and effective public financial management. The JVI also hosted a Peer Event on Tax Policy in the Western Balkan Countries. The JVI 2024 Annual Lecture, delivered by Professor Anton Korinek, focused on Labor Market Challenges in the age of Artificial Intelligence

Last but not least, we celebrated the 30th work anniversary of our colleague Tatiana Arnhold

Our course curriculum for 2025 is available and registration is open; please spread the word!

If you have any questions, comments, or feedback of any kind, please write us a note at jvi@jvi.org. Many thanks to Rilind Kabashi, our Editor, Maša Valenko, and all the contributors to this Newsletter.
