On July 6-8, 2015, Norbert Funke and Alexander Prostimkin visited Kosovo for discussions about JVI training. They met with Governor Bedri Hamza; Messrs. Lulzim Ismajli and Fatmir Gashi, Deputy Governors; Mr. Isni Kila, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Isa Krasniqi, CEO of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (SAK) and other senior officials. During the past 12 years close to 500 course participants from Kosovo benefited from training at the JVI. All underlined the critical importance of capacity building support from the JVI over the years, as institutions in Kosovo had to be built from scratch and all staff needed to learn their new roles. The discussions focussed on (i) demand for training; (ii) online learning; and (iii) administrative arrangements.
In a meeting with JVI Alumni and representatives from some other local organizations, Norbert Funke gave a presentation on “<link file:212 _blank>Macroeconomics after the crisis”, followed by a lively discussion.
