Pekka Ruuhonen is the IMF Regional Revenue Administration Advisor for Western Balkans based at the JVI as of April 1, 2019. He is a former Director General of the Finnish Tax Administration and has played a key role in reforming the FTA, including the IT platform and e-services. He has several years’ experience as a resident tax administration advisor and project leader in Bosnia Herzegovina and in Indonesia and as a short-term tax administration expert in many other countries including Serbia and Macedonia. He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Helsinki University. The scope of his work is to develop tax administrations’ capabilities in domestic revenue mobilization in Western Balkans as a key means of sustainable development.
