Alexei Miksjuk joined the Joint Vienna Institute in July 2016. He previously worked at the Ministry of Economy of Belarus as Deputy Head of Financial Sector Analysis and Forecasting Department, and at the National Bank of Belarus as Advisor to the Governor and, recently, as Head of Department for Strategic Development and Cooperation with IFIs. His primary expertise and research interests are in the areas of monetary policy, macroeconomic modeling and structural reforms. Alexei (co-)authored a number of publications in IMF working papers, EERC working papers, economic and econometric journals. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Belarusian State Economic University; an MSc in Economics and International Financial Economics from the University of Warwick, UK; and a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the Belarusian State University.
