Rilind Kabashi joined the JVI in September 2020. He previously worked in the Monetary Policy and Research Department of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia, focusing on modeling and forecasting, including the development and use of the main monetary policy analysis and forecasting model of the central bank. He has also worked for two years as Advisor to the Minister of Finance of North Macedonia, advising and assisting the Minister on macroeconomics, budget planning and execution, public debt and borrowing activities, and relations with international organizations and financial institutions. Rilind holds a Diploma in Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje, and an MSc and PhD in Economics from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. At the JVI, he teaches courses on monetary policy, fiscal policy, general macroeconomics and modelling and forecasting. He is also involved in providing technical assistance on behalf of the IMF. A native speaker of Albanian, he is also fluent in English, Macedonian, and Serbian.
