DESCRIPTION | A successful green and digital transition poses a huge challenge for all countries and, particularly for emerging and transition countries with limited public resources and innovation capacities. However, the green and digital transition present challenges as well as plenty of opportunities, and escaping this transformation is virtually impossible for any world economy. This one-week course covers challenges and opportunities of the green and digital transition and policy instruments supporting the development of digital and green policy agendas. The aim of the course is to offer theoretical as well as practical perspectives in planning and implementing such agendas. It discusses the policy instruments currently used in the context of the green and digital transition, focusing on the most used and the most promising for emerging and transition countries. The course draws on European experiences as well as experiences from transition countries with case studies at the international, national, regional and local levels. Participants will be invited to discuss the experiences of their own countries and apply the presented concepts in workshops.
