TADAT has become a globally recognized tool for assessing systems of tax administrations and is widely used by capacity development providers and tax administrations throughout the JVI region.
From May 23-27, 2022, the Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) of the IMF delivered at the JVI a virtual training course on TADAT for 18 participants from 10 JVI countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Iran, Kosovo, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
The 5-day course covered the 9 Performance Outcome Areas (POA) of TADAT and exposed participants to the TADAT framework, including good tax administration practices. The course also guided participants on how to apply the TADAT methodology in their own tax administrations through the criteria used to score the dimensions and related indicators under each POA. Participants were also apprised on how to prepare themselves for a formal TADAT assessment led by capacity development providers.
The course provided a platform for participants to present and discuss the practices in their own tax administrations and the level and the quality of the engagement was outstanding. Also, technology was leveraged for online polls to keep the engagement in a virtual learning environment going. The training team is looking forward to the next year’s in-person session in Vienna!
