Rilind Kabashi joined the JVI in September 2020. He previously worked in the Monetary Policy and Research Department of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia, where for four years he was Head of the Economic Modelling Unit, where he was responsible for modeling and forecasting, including the development and use of the main monetary policy analysis and forecasting model of the central bank. Earlier he worked for two years as Advisor to the Minister of Finance of North Macedonia, advising and assisting the Minister on macroeconomics, budget planning and execution, public debt and borrowing activities, and relations with international organizations and financial institutions. Rilind holds a Diploma in Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje, and an MSc and PhD in Economics from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. His primary research interests are in monetary policy, macroeconomic forecasting, and fiscal policy. A native speaker of Albanian, he is also fluent in English, Macedonian, and Serbian.
