TAIEX/JVI workshop on climate change economics and the European Green Deal

Are you interested in the economic impacts of climate change and possible economic policy options? 

The workshop, which take place from June 13 till June 15, will provide an introduction to the economics of climate change and to the European Green Deal (EGD). It will start from an assessment of the economic challenges posed by climate change and present the comprehensive policy response that is the EGD. It will then cover carbon pricing as the main economic policy tool to reduce carbon emissions, present transition policies in the energy sector and the role finance can play in enabling the transition. Finally, the workshop will touch upon the impact of the EGD on neighboring countries and present ‘just transition’ policies to ensure the fight against climate change does not leave communities behind.
